
The full moon in May is known as the full moon of flowers. The naming is remembering that in May wildflowers and gardens bloom throughout the northern hemisphere.
The flower moon is the last of the four stars that light up the night sky in 2020. This week’s Supermoon will be a treat for sky watchers because it will be 15 percent brighter than an ordinary full moon.

Typically, the full moon measures about 31 minute arcs (0.52 degrees wide) and on May 7 the month will be 33 arc minutes (0.55 degrees).
NASA said that the last supermoon of 2020 will appear in the sky on Thursday (7/5), at 6:45 EDT or at 17:45 WIB. Supermoon size is estimated to be 7 percent larger and 15 percent brighter than the usual full moon.
Binoculars and telescopes are not specifically needed, but they can provide a clearer view and more detail about the moon.
