Saudi Loosen Region Restrictions, Mosques in Mecca Open June 21 Next

 Saudi Arabia announced it would relax restrictions due to the corona virus pandemic, including allowing people to return to worship at the Mecca mosque on June 21.
 
The Saudi Press Agency reports that on Sunday (5/31), curfews in all regions of the Arab kingdom will be relaxed, except in Mecca. Activities in the cities and regions of the country will also be permitted.
 
The curfew will be loosened gradually starting at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., then from 20:00 to 6:00 p.m. While Mecca remained lockdown for 24 hours straight.

On June 21, curfew rules in all regions of the Arab Kingdom will be lifted and worship at the Mecca Mosque will be permitted.
 
Before that, social distance guidelines must be obeyed and large scale meetings involving more than 50 people will still be prohibited.
 
Reporting from Arab News, Tuesday (5/26), the authorities also allowed visits to the offices of ministries, government agencies, private sector companies, and office activities in these sectors.

“The phases begin gradually until we return to normal, with a new concept based on social distance,” said Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.
 
He added that the preventive measures taken by the Arab kingdom at the beginning of the outbreak had helped limit the spread of the virus.
 
At present, the ministry has developed a plan for the next phase which relies on two main factors: The capacity of the health care system to deal with critical cases and the expansion of testing to identify new infections as soon as possible.
