Hotels in Bali Require Certification for the New Normal Health Protocol

DENPASAR – Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati or better known as Cok Ace said to get the safety of tourists, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali must provide all hotels and restaurants that are already in the new and confirmed protocol.

“This certification must be in accordance with the protocols of both WHO standards, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Government of Bali,” he said while chairing a meeting for the Preparation of New Era Protocol in the Field of Tourism at the Praja Sanha Meeting Room, Bali Governor’s Office, Monday (29/6) .

Cok Ace hopes that this plan can be implemented soon because the government has planned a new normal trip on 9 July. Hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation and travel agents already have to pocket the new protocol certification before.

Cok Ace Prepare all parties to seriously implement the new era protocol. If there are entrepreneurs who play freely using the new era protocol, they must immediately be followed up with permission for this improvement period.

“All must be done seriously and strictly. We must not be careless in the slightest, “he stressed.

Head of Tourism Office Putu Astawa explained the planned protocol of the new era of Balinese life arrangements for the tourism industry.

He stated if the purpose of this certification is to provide recognition of businesses that have standards, ensure safety and health aspects that support consumers and to improve the competitiveness of tourism businesses in terms of products, services and management.

Chairman of the Badung PHRI I Gusti Agung Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya said, hotels and restaurants in Badung had already prepared health protocols of up to 96 percent. Because within 3 months when the hotel is not regulated, the management has prepared operational standards set by WHO and the Ministry.

“From May to June the hotel has conducted training and simulations of staff and vendors who bring the supply of goods to the hotel,” he explained

He explained, for the certification process it would be divided into two categories, namely certification by the Provincial Government verification team for 3, 4 and 5 Star Hotels. While the certification from the Regency Government verification team for 1, 2 star hotels, jasmine hotels, tourist lodges, villas and homestay.

“In this certification process, there are 80 types of sector businesses in 13 approved groups,” he explained.
