Trump: China Responsible for Stopping the Spread of Corona Virus

The state of Missouri in the United States is suing China for its handling of the corona virus outbreak which caused huge economic losses.

In court documents submitted on Tuesday, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt accused China of not doing much in stopping the spread of Covid-19 worldwide, causing an “unnecessary and preventable outbreak”.

The federal lawsuit is seeking compensation for the “loss of lives, human suffering and economic turmoil” that has occurred in the state.

“The Chinese government lied to the world about the dangers and nature of the spread of Covid-19.

Silenced those who sought to warn, and did not do much to stop the spread of disease. They must be held accountable for their actions,” Schmitt said in a statement.

Separately, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, actually encouraged speculation about the origin of the Covid-19 virus.

Trump also said to reporters: “We think we know where it [the corona virus] came from. We might talk a lot about that.”

US media reported earlier that US intelligence agencies believed the virus originated from a virus research institute.

That in Wuhan with poor security protocols, an accusation China has denied.

Trump told journalists that he would not discuss intelligence reports.
