In early April, a tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York was confirmed to have been infected by a caregiver who had no symptoms at the time.
The cats suffer from a mild respiratory illness, but can recover in a few days.

“This virus may have been transmitted to this cat by mildly or asymptomatic family members. Through contact with an infected person outside his home,” the statement said.
Previously, a tiger at the Bronx Zoo was also attacked by the corona virus.
The 4-year-old Malay tiger named Nadia was tested after showing symptoms of Covid-19.
The zoo was closed and three tigers and three other lions later showed the same symptoms, but all have now recovered.
