Corona : Massive Graduation in America Held Drive-through at the Circuit

Corona virus lockdown (COVID-19) in America encourages every school to look for alternative ways to hold graduations. In Florida, Matanzas High School will hold its graduation drive-through. Uniquely, it will be held at the Daytona International Speedway racing circuit.

“Knowing senior students will not be able to go onstage and receive their diplomas like we used to. There is no better alternative than holding it on the Daytona racing circuit,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile was quoted as saying by CNN on Saturday. May 9, 2020.

Wile explained, the graduates and their parents would be called one by one via radio calls from the circuit. Once the name is called, then they, while driving their respective cars. Will circle the circuit to do a victory lap before taking a diploma in the pit line.

Matanzas student, Hunter Perez, said he was happy his graduation could still be celebrated in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic. Moreover, the graduation was held at the racing circuit. According to Matanzas, his graduation will be something he will never forget.

“What I look forward to the most is taking photos on the circuit and showing it off to others,” he said.

At present, the United States has 1.3 million cases and 78,616 victims have died from the Corona virus (COVID-19).
