There are times when we need a vacation in a place that is not too crowded, and some hidden tourist attractions in Lombok promise this.
Forget about popular tourist attractions, and try to visit these places once in a while – you won’t regret it.
Relics of the Dutch colonial era that still stands firm: 84-year-old Ancient Suspension Bridge
Built in 1932, the 100 m high suspension bridge in West Lombok has many stories. For example, the solid iron used to build it came from Australia, the construction experts were brought from Java, and the bridge was damaged twice by being hit by the current!
In its heyday, this bridge played an important role in connecting remote areas before roads existed. Now, this bridge is only crossed by bicycles and young people who hang out in the afternoon.
Under the bridge flows a river that connects Kelebut and Nyurlembang hamlets. Watch out not to lose balance when crossing it!
Getting There: Located in the Gerung area. When heading to Kebon Ayu (a traditional weaving village), you will find this bridge from the main road.
The atmosphere is so dramatic: Bangkang Cave
Doesn’t this look like the cave in the Indiana Jones movie?
This hundred-year-old cave is located in a village that is still unexplored by tourists. To be more perfect, prepare a fisheye or wide-angle lens so you can take pictures with the maximum!
The cave is also home to thousands of bats, and the best time to visit is before sunset so you can witness a spectacular event, where thousands of bats fly away from their nests.
But open your umbrella or wear a poncho – you won’t be exposed to bat droppings!
Location: Bangkang Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, NTB
Getting There: On the exit from Kuta, a few kilometers before turning to Mawun Beach, turn right on the red and white sign under the rocky path. Bangkang Cave is located at the bottom of the hill.

Bukit Pergasingan is also an alternative route to climb Mount Rinjani, with an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level and Sembalun Village which is at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. So you have to conquer a height of around 600 meters.

We suggest that you camp overnight, so you can enjoy the amazing sunrise behind Rinjani.

Amazing natural sculpture: Mangku Sakti Waterfall
No less beautiful than the sculpture of artist Antoni Gaudí, the formation of the canyon here is very impressive.
Natural erosion has carved this canyon so that the water flows gently.
The river flows from Lake Segara Anak (Mount Rinjani), and the water looks turbid because of the sulfur content which is believed to treat various types of skin diseases.
